Teddy’s biggest race of the weekend turned out to be against what proved to be an unbeatable foe – the weather. Sunday’s Whelen VFD 150 for the WMT, part of the Town Fair Tire Finale Weekend at Waterford Speedbowl, was postponed by rain. The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 8. His only racing came on Friday night at Stafford, where he drove the DiPisa #81 SK Modified to a steady but unspectacular fifth place finish.
This weekend will bring an event TC looks forward to eagerly each year, the Fall Final at Stafford. He will be doing double duty, behind the wheel of the Al-Lee Installations #36 in the WMT 150 and the DiPisa machine for the SK 50-lapper. As always, he is anxious to race at his home track.
“We started in our usual 15th spot last Friday night in the SK,” Teddy noted. “We worked our way up to fifth but that was as far as we could get. The car was decent – the motor was strong but the handling was a little off. It is tough to be as sharp as you need to be when you are not running every week. But it was a good tune-up for the Fall Final this weekend.
“I’m anxious to race this weekend. The season is winding down and I want to finish it with some wins. Stafford is home and you always want to do well at home. Brad (LaFontaine) and the crew have the Modified really dialed in. I’m hoping it will be a weekend of winning.”
