On Friday night, June 13, TC reached a lofty goal at Stafford Motor Speedway – in the night’s SK Modified feature he captured his 100th career victory at Stafford. It took 22 years to reach, but it was a monumental achievement.
Teddy’s first win came on May 23, 1986. Over the next 22 seasons he won feature races in a variety of racecars. That is reflected in his win total. Among his 100 victories, 85 came in an SK Modified, 8 came in a full Modified, 6 were in a Pro Stock and one was in a Busch East (Camping World East) car. As a reward for his accomplishment, Stafford Speedway renamed the Section A Grandstand as the Ted Christopher Grandstand.
In typical TC fashion, he downplayed his feat. “I don’t count wins. I’ve always been someone who races one race at a time. The most important race is the one I’m competing in. Records are to look back on when you have retired from racing. I’m a long way from that. Right now I’m focused on winning number 101.”
