After a weekend off due to the weather, TC headed to Stafford Motor Speedway last Friday night to begin the Memorial Day Weekend with the Connecticut Classic festivities. He was hoping to celebrate the holiday in Victory Lane but things just didn’t follow that plan.
In the SK Modified feature, Teddy continued to improve in the #13. The new car is getting dialed in. He chased feature winner Bo Gunning to the checkered flag. The runner-up finish boosted TC to second in points, just six markers behind current leader Kerry Malone. That first feature win seems just around the corner.
In the Whelen Modified Tour 150 Teddy was focused on winning at his home track. He qualified the Eddie Whelan #36 fourth fastest in time trials and drew the third starting position for the feature. At the drop of the green flag TC was on the move, taking the lead on the third circuit. He held that spot until pitting on lap 87, handing the lead to Jimmy Blewett. He returned to the in `4th place and began his climb back to the front. That ended quickly on lap 92 as he was caught up in an accident and retired from the race, credited with a disappointing 28th place finish.
On Saturday night TC was in the Czarnecki Brothers #11 for the True Value Modified Racing Series 100-lapper at Monadnock Speedway. He started the feature from the 14th slot and quickly began his climb to the front. He cracked the top-five just past the halfway mark and finally came home in sixth place.
This Friday night Teddy returns to Stafford with the #13 SK. The car improves each week and TC is poised to take his first feature win of the year. There has been a change in his schedule for Saturday night. Originally he had planned to run the TVMRS event at Canaan Speedway in Hew Hampshire, but will now race the John Jensen SK at Waterford.
