The 2007 racing season in the Northeast is about to begin in earnest. This weekend brings the opening race on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, Icebreaker 2007 at Thompson on Sunday. On Saturday night the True Value Modified Racing Series kicks off the year at Monadnock Speedway. TC is anxious to get started and plans to compete in both events.
Teddy has also announced a very important addition to his 2007 schedule. He will return to Stafford Motor Speedway on Friday nights, driving his own SK Modified in the weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events at the famed Connecticut half-mile oval. The engine program will come from Carlquist Competition Engines in Oakville, Connecticut. TC is happy to be returning on a regular basis to the track he calls home.
“I’m excited to be racing on Friday nights at Stafford this year,” Teddy admits. “I missed not running there last year. It’s a very special place to me and I’ve had a lot of success there over the years. I think we’re going to be very competitive. I’m excited about our new engine program with Carlquist Competition Engines. It’s good to be going home again. I can’t wait to get started!”
Stafford’s 2007 season starts the weekend of April 27-29 with the 36th Annual Tech-Net Spring Sizzler Presented by CARQUEST. TC will be doing double-duty, competing in both the WMT 200-lapper in Eddie Whelan’s potent #36 Modified as well as the SK 40-lap main.
Teddy also has announced he will be driving the Eddie Whelan #36 in two Saturday night shows at Riverhead Raceway in 2007, including the Tom Baldwin/Richie Evans/Charlie Jarzombek Memorial on July 21. Check his schedule for more details.
Let the games begin!
