TC made his annual spring trip to Caraway Speedway for the opening event on the 2007 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour schedule. Driving the Brady Bunch #00, he was hoping to win this event for the third consecutive year. But those plans were derailed in an accident on lap 120 after a battle for second with Burt Myers. Teddy was credited with an 18th place finish while Myers went on to finish second behind race winner L.W. Miller.
“Joe, Scott and the crew gave me a good car to drive,” explained TC. “We were just a little too loose. We could have used a little less tire stagger. But we were definitely a top-three car. I started back in ninth and worked my way up to third behind L.W. and Myers. Myers always races me hard and we had a good battle going. I got under him and he tried to turn down on me but I pushed him up the track and got by. I was chasing down the leader but Myers wanted to get back at me. He hit me so hard in the rear that we locked bumpers. I tried to shake him off but he turned me into the fence. I don’t know if we had enough to pass L.W. for the win but it would have been a good battle. We just didn’t get that far.”
Teddy will race at the Waterford Speedbowl this weekend in the 11th Annual Budweiser Modified Nationals driving for John Jensen. TC won this event in 1999 and stands third in career SK Modified wins at the Bowl behind Dennis Gada and Bob Potter. After that he will focus on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour opener, Icebreaker 2007 at Thompson International Speedway, on Sunday, April 15. The night before he will head to Monadnock Speedway for the opening race on the True Value Modified Racing Series, one of several TVMRS events he will run in 2007 in the Czarnecki Brothers #11 Modified.
